This public webinar provided a detailed description of the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards Program, which was created to help patients and other stakeholder communities become more involved in the research process. Building on PCORI’s engagement work, the awards will provide “wrap-around” support and enhance the impact of PCORI’s major research awards.
PCORI will award up to $15 million in 2014 to support projects in three categories — Knowledge Awards, Training and Development Awards, and Dissemination Awards — that work together to establish a diverse community of passionate individuals with opportunities to participate in patient-centered research.
Members of PCORI’s engagement team discussed the value of including patients and stakeholders in research, how the engagement awards will support the institute’s growing research portfolio, which organizations are eligible, and how to apply. The webinar also provided information about PCORI’s review process and the timeline for award decisions.
Part of the webinar was also dedicated to answering questions from attendees about the engagement awards program. If you have any additional questions, please submit them via e-mail to ea@pcori.org.
