During the January 26, 2016, meeting, the Board approved $70 million for nine new patient-centered research projects. The projects include five pragmatic clinical studies on conditions ranging from treatment options for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to reducing the risk of asthma symptoms in African American and Hispanic adults. Additionally, the Board approved funding for a study to determine effective motivational strategies for African Americans with uncontrolled diabetes. It also approved awards that will enable three PCORnet Clinical Data Research Networks to conduct research on risks, complications and disparities related to type II diabetes. (Read more)
