FasterCures held its annual meeting, Partnering for Cures, to convene leaders with the experience, creativity and motivation needed to transform the medical research system. As health care moves increasingly from treatment to prevention and from reactive to proactive, new opportunities and challenges are emerging for researchers, companies and consumers. How well can we predict individuals' risk of disease? What new tools do we have to prevent it? What are the business and economic implications of a shift from managing illness to managing wellness? And how must the role of the individual patient/consumer change, as their engagement with their health data and status becomes increasingly important?
