Listening to Purchasers, Payers, and Industry: Meeting Stakeholder Needs for Comparative Effectiveness Research
Healthcare Stakeholders Webinar Series: PCORI is hosting a series of three webinars focused on healthcare stakeholders. Each one examines health information needs, attitudes toward comparative effectiveness research (CER), and views on engaging in research as partners in designing, conducting, and disseminating research.
Information and presentation slides for Webinar 3, and links for Webinars 1 and 2, are below.
Webinar 3: Listening to Purchasers, Payers, and Industry
PCORI actively seeks to engage healthcare stakeholders in its work. To understand views of purchasers, payers, and industry toward comparative effectiveness research, researchers from RAND and the National Pharmaceutical Council conducted ten telephone and web-enabled focus groups. The focus groups also explored the specific information needs of these groups, attitudes toward stakeholder engagement in research, and views on work funded by PCORI. This webinar will provide researchers, health policy makers, and funders with information about how to collect, share, and support use of research information with purchasers, payers, and industry and how to involve these stakeholders in the research enterprise more directly.
