Funding Announcements

Most of our primary research funding is awarded in response to PCORI Funding Announcements (PFAs), broad calls for patient-centered CER projects aligned with our five research priorities. We have announced two cycles of primary research awards since releasing the first of our PFAs in May 2012 and plan one more round in our first funding year. As of May 15, 2013, when we entered our second full year of primary research funding, we revised our PFAs and associated application guidelines to clarify key review criteria and application definitions.

In addition to broad PFAs, we plan to issue targeted funding announcements, seeking proposals to study particular high-priority CER topics, as well as offer special one-time funding opportunities. We also fund research through contracts issued via RFP.
