Healthcare systems include: private and public health insurance plans; physician groups; hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities; academic medical centers; integrated delivery systems; community-based and safety-net clinics; federal, state, and municipal providers; and other entities organized to deliver, arrange, purchase, or coordinate healthcare services. PCORI seeks studies that will provide information of value to patients, their caregivers and clinicians, as well as to healthcare leaders, regarding which features of systems lead to better patient-centered outcomes.

*Deadlines are at 5:00 p.m. (ET). If deadlines fall on a weekend or a federal holiday, the deadline will be the following Monday or the next day after the federal holiday.

To propose a project budget that is greater than the direct costs or maximum project period listed for a PFA, submit a request by the LOI deadline using the templates provided above.

Note: We revised our application due dates as part of our transition from three to four funding cycles each year. Because of this transition, we extended the application due date for this PFA cycle from December 16, 2013 to January 21, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. (ET). We also renamed our cycles to align with our new schedule. As a result, this cycle, previously designated as our December 2013 cycle, was renamed the Winter 2014 Cycle with the new application deadline of January 21, 2014.
