Research Prioritization for Assessment of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options

On January 13 and 14, 2014, the Advisory Panel on Assessment of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options convened to discuss and prioritize research gaps for two topics, treatment strategies for migraine headaches and treatments to stabilize symptoms of osteoarthritis; prioritize 14 new research topics against PCORI's research criteria; and select a subset of topics for further consideration. Fourteen briefs were developed to support the research prioritization process. Topic briefs developed to support the research prioritization process are listed below.

Topic 9: “Identifying lung cancer in people with lung nodules”
Topic 10: “Treatment options for opioid substance abuse”
Topic 11: “Biomarker testing for patients with malignancy”
Topic 12: “Treatment options for multiple sclerosis”
Topic 13: “Proton beam therapy for breast, lung, and prostate cancer”
Topic 14: “Treatment options for autism”
