Alex Alexander, MPA, MBA, is a Senior Project Manager in the Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Alexander currently serves as the Program Director for the Patient–Centered Network of Learning Health Systems (LHSNet) Clinical Data Research Network (CDRN) program and the National Alzheimer’s & Dementia Patient & Caregiver-powered Research Network (AD PCPRN) funded by Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI).
Alexander recently led the HIE and interoperability initiatives for the multi-site South East Minnesota Beacon Program, a three year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology which established a health IT infrastructure in the 11 counties of SE Minnesota.
In 2014, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Minnesota Department of Health for his contributions to health information technology in Minnesota. Alexander has a Master’s in Public Administration (Mason Fellow in Public Policy) from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and an MBA from University of Science and Technology, Kochi, India.
