Anjum Khurshid, MD, PhD, MPA, is Director of Data Integration in the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a faculty member in the Department of Population Health. He is a nationally-recognized leader in the fields of population health and health information technology. In 2014, he was appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee on Health IT Policy by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. In 2016, he cochaired the Task Force on Interoperability Experience, which was formed by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.  He was the Principal Investigator for the $13.5 million Crescent City Beacon Community program in New Orleans, which won the Health Care Informatics Innovator Award in 2013. He was also the first principal investigator on the PCORI-funded Louisiana Clinical Data Research Network, now called REACHnet.

Khurshid is leading projects in Austin to build a seamless data sharing infrastructure, including the development of a platform to integrate social determinants of health with electronic medical records.

Khurshid earned MD from the King Edward Medical University, Lahore, and both his PhD in public policy and MPA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Khurshid served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Patient Engagement from April 2015 - April 2018.
