Annie Lewis-O’Connor is a Board Certified Pediatric and Ob-Gyn Nurse Practitioner and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She is the Founder and Director of the Women’s CARE Clinic (Coordinated Approach Recovery & Empowerment) which provides patient informed health care to women who have been intentionally harmed, and she holds Faculty Appointments at Harvard Medical School and Boston College, where she teaches on violence prevention and intervention. In addition, she is the Chair of the National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse and the Principal Investigator on a National Institute of Justice Grant addressing reducing Domestic Violence Homicide and Risk Reduction. She is well published in peer-reviewed journals and academic books on the topic of violence against women and children and her work in violence against women and children has reached Haiti, China and Taiwan. In 2011, she joined the Faculty of the Center for Clinical and Global Health Education at The John Hopkins University, teaching a global on-line course on violence against women. In 2012, she was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as a Champion in Health Care. She holds a MSN from Simmons College, a MPH from Boston University, and a PhD from Boston College.
Lewis-O'Connor served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Improving Healthcare Systems from April 2013 - April 2015.
