Recognized for her expertise in health literacy, Helen Osborne, M.Ed., OTR/L, helps professionals communicate health information in ways that patients and the public can understand. She is president of Health Literacy Consulting. She also is founder of Health Literacy Month. In addition, Osborne produces and hosts the podcast series, Health Literacy Out Loud.
She brings clinical experience, educational training, and patient perspective to all her work. She speaks about health literacy at conferences worldwide. She also serves as a plain language writer/editor on a wide range of topics. Osborne is author of several books, including the award-winning "Health Literacy from A to Z: Practical Ways to Communicate Your Health Message, Second Edition."
Osborne previously served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Communication and Dissemination Research.
Osborne served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Clinical Effectiveness Decision Science from August 2017 to August 2020.
