Senior Manager, Advocacy Relations, Continuum Clinical

Represented: Patients, Caregivers, and Patient Advocates

Kristin Voorhees became passionate about changing the healthcare system as a result of enduring years of misdiagnoses and ill health before a 2007 diagnosis with celiac disease. She recently joined Continuum Clinical as Senior Manager, Advocacy Relations where she partners with patient advocacy groups and professional medical societies to increase awareness of clients, their programs and their clinical trials. Prior to this, she was the Director of Healthcare Initiatives at Beyond Celiac where she spent seven years spearheading patient engagement and patient-centered programs in close collaboration with patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and the biopharmaceutical and diagnostics industries.

Kristin's enthusiasm for influencing behavior change and core belief that patients have an active role in evidence-based medicine attracted her to PCORI. She is also an FDA Patient Representative for the field of celiac disease. Voorhees is results-driven and motivated by collaboration, innovation and making a positive difference in people’s lives. She holds a BA in communications from James Madison University and an MA in health communications from Emerson College/Tufts School of Medicine.

Voorhees, who previously served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Communication and Dissemination Research, also served as a member of the Advisory Panel on Clinical Effectiveness and Decision Science (CEDS) from December 2017 to April 2018.
