Mat Edick, PhD, is committed to patient-centered outcomes research in several roles: as a scientist, a parent of a child with a genetic disorder, and a patient with a chronic health condition.

Edick is currently the Associate Director of the Center for Translational Genetics at the Michigan Public Health Institute. He has worked closely with the Inborn Errors of Metabolism Collaborative to establish a network of patients and families to inform the research efforts of the collaborative. In addition, Edick is a leading member of the Midwest Genetics Network that is focused on improving access to genetic services for medically underserved populations.

He received his doctorate in cancer pharmacogenomics from the University of Tennessee and completed postdoctoral training at the Van Andel Research Institute and Michigan State University in cancer cell biology.
