Melanie Thompson, MPH, is a Senior Program Associate for Engagement at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She primarily supports the Pipeline to Proposal Awards which funds capacity building to help communities engage in health research.
Before joining PCORI, Thompson managed the Osteoarthritis (OA) Action Alliance, a national coalition of more than 40 patient and health advocacy organizations, at the Arthritis Foundation. She coordinated the coalition’s activities, assisted working groups in the implementation of OA prevention and management projects, and developed new partnerships for the coalition.
Thompson received her BS from the Georgia Institute of Technology and her MPH from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. She completed her fellowship at the Marcus Autism Institute where she contributed to a CDC pilot education program for children diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
