Rebecca Barasky is a Program Manager for Clinical Effectiveness and Decision Science program at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
Before joining PCORI, Barasky was the scientific manager for the NIH-funded DC Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) at George Washington University, where she managed the pilot awards program, identified strategic areas for RFAs, coordinated the pre-award consultation process and managed the application and scientific review process. She also served as the coordinator of the CFAR HIV Continuum of Care Working Group, managing the production of two supplemental issues in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (JAIDS) and co-authoring manuscripts summarizing the results of public health programs addressing the challenges of the HIV treatment cascade. Prior to working at the DC CFAR, Barasky assessed and tracked the development of new HIV prevention technologies in clinical trials for women in sub-Saharan Africa as a research analyst at the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM). She provided technical, communications, and strategic input for grant-writing and the launch of a Phase III clinical trial for HIV prevention in women.
Barasky received a BA in psychology from the University of Michigan, and an MPH in maternal and child health from George Washington University.
