Yasmeen Long, MA, is a Program Officer for the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She is responsible for decision-making and management and monitoring of the program, its funded projects, and program activities that advance PCORI’s engagement mission.
Before joining PCORI, Long managed global health policy capacity building programs in the US, Asia, and the Middle East. These programs were designed to develop the leadership capacity of civil society, ministries of health, advocates, and researchers in collaboration with the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use in low-and-middle income countries. She provided program management and technical expertise for development and implementation, and worked with international organizations and in-country planning committees geared toward improving health outcomes and implementing policy change for global tobacco control.
Long’s previous work also included managing clinical research studies and administering programs at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Bloomberg School Public Health, and the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in the following areas: biomedical research, chronic diseases, health education and promotion, and HIV/AIDS prevention.
Long earned a BS in health sciences with a concentration in health management from Howard University, and an MA in women’s health and sociology from Suffolk University.
