The following opportunities to provide input on specific topics are closed and responses are no longer being accepted. The most recent opportunities are listed first.

Provide comment on the Draft Methodology Report (July 23-September 14, 2012)

  • This draft report proposes standards for the conduct of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR). The report is a critical step in guiding health care stakeholders towards the best and most appropriate methods for conducting PCOR.
  • Read all of the comments received.

National Priorities for Research and Research Agenda (input received Jan. 23-March 15, 2012)

  • The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute developed its draft National Priorities for Research and Research Agenda as an initial roadmap to guide the institute’s work. As required by law, the draft priorities and agenda were posted for public comment prior to adoption.

  • Status: PCORI’s Board of Governors approved May 21, 2012, the final version of PCORI’s first National Priorities for Research and Research Agenda. The approved agenda contains important revisions made in response to 15 major themes that emerged from more than 450 public comments.

Methodology Committee Request for Information (input received Jan. 3-Feb. 17, 2012)

  • The Methodology Committee issued a Request for Information (RFI) to invite input on its draft Translation Framework Components, as part of developing its first Methodology Report.

  • Status: The Methodology Committee used information received through the RFI in completing its draft Methodology Report, which will be posted on pcori.org under Research Methodology by June 4, 2012. Respondents to the RFI will be acknowledged in the report, if they provided PCORI with authorization and their submission was selected for acknowledgement.

Initial Topics for PCORI’s Pilot Projects (input received Aug. 1-30, 2011)

  • PCORI solicited public feedback on eight initial areas of interest for a Pilot Projects Program and invited respondents to identify other appropriate topics.

  • Status: PCORI reviewed all of the input received and updated the topics for the request for applications (RFA) issued Sept. 30, 2011. PCORI’s Board of Governors approved for funding a slate of 50 projects on April 25, 2012.

Working Definition of Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (input received July 20-Sept. 2, 2011)

  • PCORI solicited public feedback on a working definition of “patient-centered outcomes research” to clarify PCORI’s focus and scope of work.
