Project Summary

Patients with vascular disease want to share their personal experiences, connect with other patients, and more actively participate in research to help others. Clinicians and researchers in vascular care have been largely unable to connect with patients with vascular disease and engage in patient-centered outcomes research. We will create a network of patients trained in PCOR and connect them with researchers and clinicians. In this project we will do two things: create an online training course for patients with vascular disease in PCOR, and bring trained patients together with PCOR-focused researchers and clinicians at an on-ground collaborative workshop in conjunction with the Vascular Annual Meeting of the Society for Vascular Surgery. The workshop will feature a patient panel discussion, a home base for patient meetings, individual patient navigators to help interpret scientific sessions, and a patient-researcher networking reception.
