Methodology Committee – Background

The 17-member Methodology Committee, appointed by Comptroller General of the United States, works to define methodological standards for  patient-centered outcomes research and develop and regularly update a translation table to guide healthcare stakeholders toward the best methods for patient-centered outcomes research.

The initial set of standards released in the draft Methodology Report were revised based on public comment, Methodology Committee and PCORI review.  The proposed revisions were presented to the PCORI Board of Governors and approved in November 2012.
