PCORI Board approves 28 new members to advisory panels

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors yesterday approved proposed slates with a total of 28 people to serve on PCORI’s five multi-stakeholder advisory panels. Panelists were chosen from more than 150 candidates who either nominated themselves or were nominated by others. In addition, the Board approved the appointments of current advisory panel members to serve as chairs for three advisory panels.

PCORI approves $254 million to fund 28 new research studies addressing urgent health problems

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors today approved $254 million in funding for 28 new research studies aimed at eliminating disparities in maternal morbidity and mortality, preventing suicide among young people, and improving behavioral health, maternal and infant outcomes, cancer care, surgical care and outcomes for people with chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

More than a dozen research topics of interest approved for future PCORI funding opportunities

More than a dozen topics ranging from healthy aging to prevention of drug addiction among adolescents and from telehealth to addressing bias, racism and discrimination throughout the health care continuum will be the focus of efforts to develop future research funding opportunities from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) following approval at today’s PCORI Board of Governors meeting.
