The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors yesterday approved proposed slates with a total of 28 people to serve on PCORI’s five multi-stakeholder advisory panels. Panelists were chosen from more than 150 candidates who either nominated themselves or were nominated by others. In addition, the Board approved the appointments of current advisory panel members to serve as chairs for three advisory panels.

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors today approved $254 million in funding for 28 new research studies aimed at eliminating disparities in maternal morbidity and mortality, preventing suicide among young people, and improving behavioral health, maternal and infant outcomes, cancer care, surgical care and outcomes for people with chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

They also acknowledged its newest seven board members, appointed by the US Government Accountability Office in late September, at their first public meeting.
