On Tuesday, May 4, PCORI will open three targeted PCORI Funding Announcements (PFAs) that will seek research study proposals for Improving Postpartum Maternal Outcomes for Populations Experiencing Disparities, Nonsurgical Options for Women with Urinary Incontinence, and Comparative Effectiveness of Interventions Targeting Mental Health Conditions in Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
More specifically, these targeted PFAs will seek proposals for:
-- Figuring out which strategies most effectively increase early detection of and timely care for postpartum complications, particularly among Black, Hispanic/Latina and Native American women and those with low incomes or who live in rural areas.
-- Understanding the comparative effectiveness of nonsurgical treatments for women experiencing urinary incontinence, a condition affecting 30 percent of older women.
-- Assessing the comparative effectiveness of interventions that address mental health conditions in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
