PCORI understands that the research community is amid significant challenges as it adapts to the COVID-19 emergency. Thus, PCORI has decided to extend the following deadlines to submit applications and Letters of Intent for several funding opportunities.
-- For Broad and Methods PCORI Funding Announcements (PFAs), applicants are still welcome to submit with the posted Cycle 1 2020 deadlines. Applicants are also eligible to defer submission of their application to Cycle 2 2020, with a deadline of September 1, 2020. All such deferral requests must be submitted by the principal investigator to [email protected] before the specified submission deadline (May 5, 2020), copying the Institutional Administrative Official listed on the application.
-- The Cycle 1 2020 Implementation of PCORI-Funded Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Results Limited PFA will maintain its April 7 application deadline; however, PCORI will consider extensions on a case-by-case basis. Principal investigators should submit requests to [email protected] by April 1, 2020, copying the Institutional Administrative Official listed on the application.
Impacts to Future Funding Cycles
-- The Limited Competition for Conducting Rare Disease Research Using PCORnet® and the Observational Analyses of Second-Line Pharmacological Agents in Type 2 Diabetes funding announcements will proceed as currently posted.
-- The Cycle 2 Limited Competition: Implementation of PCORI-Funded Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Results and the Implementation of Effective Shared Decision Making Approaches in Practice Settings PFAs will proceed as currently posted.
-- The Phased Large Awards for Comparative Effectiveness Research funding announcement will be posted June 9 with a Letter of Intent deadline of September 29, 2020, and application deadline of January 12, 2021.
