The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) hosted the first Advisory Panel Kickoff and Training in Washington, DC, on April 19-20, 2013. The event convened the newly established advisory panels on Addressing Disparities, Assessment of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options, Improving Healthcare Systems, and Patient Engagement. The meeting was designed to familiarize panelists with PCORI and the important role advisory panels will play in helping PCORI to refine our research agenda and activities.

All four advisory panels convened for an orientation, training, and to begin their work. Members of the public were invited to listen in to the meetings via teleconference.
