Updating Systematic Reviews: A PCORI Virtual Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on Psychological and Pharmacological Treatments for Adults with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- -
PCORI hosted a multi-stakeholder workshop via teleconference/webinar for a discussion of how PCORI may best invest in an update of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) systematic review of the evidence around psychological and pharmacological treatments for adults with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
This workshop served as one of the first efforts of a new initiative PCORI is launching, known as the Evidence Synthesis Program, to conduct syntheses of existing research studies on a particular clinical question or topic to more quickly and efficiently clarify what is known and what evidence gaps may still exist. We will stand up one element of our new Evidence Synthesis initiative—the focused updating of select out-of-date systematic reviews of high import—in coordination with our friends at the AHRQ.
At the meeting, a broad group of stakeholders—including patients, clinicians, payers, and industry—were asked to provide input and guidance on this update effort.
