Session Summary
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, half of adults in the United States have a chronic condition. Nationally, chronic conditions are the leading cause of death, disability, and healthcare costs. This session highlighted the results of select studies funded by PCORI, each focused on comparing the effectiveness of healthcare services and care-delivery strategies that enhance function and well-being for patients with chronic conditions. The stakeholder panel discussed the implications of the findings for patients with these chronic conditions and others, as well as how the findings can inform healthcare decisions.
