On November 15, 2018 the Advisory Panel on Healthcare Delivery and Disparities Research (HDDR) held its Fall 2018 meeting. The 24-person panel welcomed three new members, all representing the patient, caregiver, and patient/caregiver advocate perspective, and the meeting was led by newly appointed co-chairs, Craig Umsheid and Umbereen Nehal. Program Director Steve Clauser provided an update on recent panel and program activities, and working groups comprised of panelists and HDDR staff presented their progress on analyses of PCORI’s portfolio of studies on geriatrics and on health disparities. Senior Advisor Carly Parry presented, with Jean Hsieh of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), an introduction to the newly funded AHRQ/PCORI Learning Health Systems K12 Mentored Career Development Program.

In December 2017, PCORI's Board of Governors approved the merging of the Advisory Panel on Addressing Disparities and the Advisory Panel on Improving Healthcare Systems into the Advisory Panel on Healthcare Delivery and Disparities Research.
