Board of Governors Meeting: July 24, 2018

At its July 24, 2018 meeting, the Board approved about $4 million to fund two new projects to support the dissemination and implementation of findings from PCORI-funded studies.

The first project will deploy an intervention to improve how patients, families, and staff communicate in hospitals and reduce incidence of serious medical errors for hospitalized children. The second project will implement an intervention that leverages clinical and community resources to improve family-centered outcomes for high-risk overweight children and children with obesity.

The Board also approved the posting of 11 proposed new PCORI Methodology Standards in two categories for public comment. Four standards focus on individual participant-level data meta-analysis, while the other seven standards focus on qualitative methods and mixed methods research.

All PCORI Board meetings are open to the public. This meeting was held via teleconference/webinar with no public comment period.
