2020 PCORI Virtual Annual Meeting Breakout Session
Caregivers are integral members of older adults’ care teams and play a central role in patient-centered care. Stakeholders have called for patient-centered healthcare research that also adopts a family-centered approach—assessing caregiver outcomes, perspectives, and involvement in patient care. This session will feature a brief overview of the PCORI funding portfolio of research focused on older adults that is family-centered and the funded studies that assess caregiver-related outcomes and involve caregivers in the interventions. That overview will be followed by a robust discussion with stakeholders and PCORI-funded investigators on the areas of importance for directing future clinical comparative effectiveness research.
