2020 PCORI Virtual Annual Meeting Plenary Session
Implementing new evidence from clinical research into practice is challenging, especially as it requires integrating new interventions or strategies into the clinical workflow of health systems. Healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and other frontline staff, are often the people charged with delivering the new intervention with their patients, which requires training and learning new approaches. Having buy-in from these providers is essential to the success of implementation within and across health systems. This plenary will highlight three PCORI-funded implementation projects that use active strategies to engage healthcare providers from multiple health systems in incorporating interventions informed by the results of PCORI-funded comparative clinical effectiveness research studies.
