2021 PCORI Virtual Annual Meeting Breakout Session

By 2060, the number of Americans over 65 is projected to reach 95 million, while older adults from underserved communities are expected to double by 2040. The US healthcare system faces many barriers addressing the complex care needs of older adults. PCORI is identifying research priorities for promoting healthy aging across the aging continuum, including maintaining functioning and independence, chronic disease management, care and supports for significant functional impairment, and caregiving. This session will feature diverse stakeholders describing how to meet the needs of underrepresented populations and considerations that should inform PCORI’s research initiative on healthy aging.
