2021 PCORI Virtual Annual Meeting: From Principles to Practice -- Building Partnerships for Trust and Equity in Health Research
- -
2021 PCORI Virtual Annual Meeting Breakout Session
PCORI’s approach to research ensures that patients and other stakeholders are partners in the design, conduct, and dissemination of research. But today’s environment brims with skepticism of health science, distrust of research, and increased demand for inclusion and equitability in decisions making. Meanwhile, health organizations and funders are under increased pressure to improve health equity. The vastness and complexity of these challenges can be overwhelming. During this roundtable discussion, panelists will share insights for building diverse, equitable, and inclusive health research partnerships. They will also share lessons to help empower different points of view, address bias, and potentially increase the trustworthiness of scientific processes and results.
