At its meeting on January 12, 2021, the Board of Governors approved funding for a new research study on whether a more proactive kidney transplantation outreach program can help patients with kidney failure overcome roadblocks to receive transplants earlier in the course of disease, when improved outcome is more likely achieved. The Board also discussed the prioritizing principles for infrastructure funding relating to PCORnet®, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network, and voted to allocate up to $78 million in funding to support the next phase of PCORnet.
