At its March 8, 2022, meeting, the Board approved several slates of funding awards totaling about $71.5 million to support 12 new comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) and methods studies, and three projects to facilitate implementation of PCORI-funded research findings in the treatment of urinary incontinence, care of patients with sickle cell disease, and mental health care.

The Board also approved development of two new PCORI Funding Announcements (PFAs)—one on health systems strategies to reduce disparities in hypertension management and control and the other on building an evidence base to stakeholder engagement in patient-centered CER. In addition, the Board adopted a new Research Agenda, which will help in outlining how PCORI will focus its patient-centered CER funding and other activities in the years ahead.
