About This Study
RAND and researchers with the Veterans Health Foundation conducted a review of published evidence to identify the impacts of strategies employed to improve the implementation of evidence-based practices in health care—including whether and how well an evidence-based practice was performed, whether the practice was sustained, and whether the desired health outcome was achieved.
How Was the Review Conducted?
The team searched multiple academic research databases and systematic reviews to identify peer-reviewed reports of original studies published from 2010 to 2022. Only articles that measured outcomes pertaining to the impact of a strategy were included. It gathered and reported on all implementation and health outcomes in the included literature.
The team:
- assessed the studies for their scientific rigor
- grouped the most rigorous studies using grouped the most rigorous studies using ERIC, an established taxonomy of implementation strategies; and
