Term ends August 2023
For the past six years Alan Richmond has served as the Executive Director of Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH). His 20-plus years of professional experience has positioned him as an international expert in community and patient engagement. This includes serving as the first community leader in the position of co-chair of the national CTSA Community Engagement Key Functions Committee, working to better understand and support the role of community leaders in the CTSA program. Richmond is moving CCPH forward to advance the organization’s commitment to social justice and health equity. In August 2017, he facilitated the inaugural national training session Structural Inequality: An on the Ground View. His understanding of the importance of ethics in research and its influence on community engagement was deepened through a fellowship in 2016 at the Brocher Foundation in Geneva, Switzerland. Richmond served as the project lead on two PCORI projects funded by the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards program, Facilitating Patient Engagement through Partnerships and Enhancing Culturally Appropriate Research. He is an active member of the PCORI Ambassador network.
