Almaz Johnson is the Director of Freedom Now Services in Charlotte, NC. She provides COVID care (testing, vaccines, and long-hauler care) and primary care services to marginalized populations. She has a PhD in Public Health and is also a novel epidemiologist who is beginning to formulate research projects related to COVID surveillance, COVID care, and primary care in these populations. She is interested in being involved in research projects during the inception, implementation, data analysis, and dissemination. She is also a Nurse Practitioner, which has afforded her the opportunity to provide medical interventions, treatments, and education to the homeless, migrant workers, and other marginalized populations. Almaz is motivated to serve to expand research with these populations to inform medical/education interventions in public health.
