Annemieke S. Martinez (Mieke), MBA, is the chief financial officer at PCORI.
Martinez oversees PCORI's compliance, treasury, insurance, accounting, accounts payable, payroll, budget development and management, contract negotiation and execution, vendor management, meeting and event services, real property management and sustainability, occupational health and safety, administrative support services, and financial and operational reporting and analytics. She also leads operational strategy for the Finance and Administration units, including Financial Operations, Procurement Services and Workplace Solutions and Meeting Management. Martinez brings nearly 40 years of experience in finance, operations, facilities, information technology, human resources and strategy.
Most recently, she served as interim CFO and earlier as assistant vice president and deputy chief financial officer at Howard University, providing university-wide leadership and oversight on financial administration and related policies. Prior to Howard, she served as the assistant vice president and chief business offer at Georgetown University's Main Campus. During her 35-year tenure at Georgetown, Martinez held various operational, strategic and financial roles at all levels of the organization. She received both her Master of Business Administration (Beta Gamma Sigma) and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and International Management from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
Martinez has a passion for resource optimization through re-engineering and streamlining business processes and utilization of technology. She leverages her diverse background in academia and her experience in financial analysis and modeling to inform decision making and to effectively implement high-level conceptual ideas at the operational level.
