Beth Careyva, MD, is a practicing family physician, health services researcher, and leader in research and clinical operations. As vice chair of clinical programs at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she oversees over 100 practicing clinicians in 28 practices across the Lehigh Valley. This role provides the opportunity to translate her research into practice to improve quality of care delivery.
Since 2015, she has served as associate director of the Lehigh Valley Practice and Community Based Research Network. She currently serves as principal investigator or co-investigator on multiple studies with a focus on leveraging technology and systems of care to enhance preventive care services and promote health equity.
Careyva currently holds an appointment with the University of South Florida Morsani School of Medicine. She graduated from Lehigh University in 2005 and completed medical school at the Sidney Kimmel School of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in 2009, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her family medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University in 2012. She completed the Grant Generating Project Fellowship in 2014, the AHRQ Certificate Program in Practice Based Research Methods in 2017, and the Dorothy Rider Pool Collective Impact Fellowship in 2017.
