Betty J. Scull, MPA, MA, is a retired public administration professional. She actively serves as a member of the Strategies to Reduce Injuries and Develop confidence in Elders (STRIDE) National Patient and Stakeholders Council and the PCORI Inaugural Peer Review Editorial Board and is a PCORI merit and peer reviewer. She would like to become more involved in minority health, diabetes, mental health issues, services, and research to reduce disparities in healthcare delivery.
In her role as patient stakeholder member of the STRIDE council, her eyes were opened to vast possibilities to serve others through PCORI. She applied to become a PCORI Ambassador in December 2015 and has served since then. Since becoming a peer reviewer, she has reviewed five or six draft final research reports by PCORI researchers, work which she has enjoyed. She also enjoys helping to recruit other PCORI peer reviewers and Ambassadors. In addition to her PCORI volunteer work, she serves as a consulting technical writer, preacher, and public speaker.
