Brenda Mertes is the founder of CDH Stars and Angels, a nonprofit organization on a mission to empower families affected by congenital diaphragmatic hernia. The organization provides small grants, care packages, and opportunities for affected families. Mertes has been a guest speaker on local television and was a patient advocate/speaker at the National Organization for Rare Disorders Convention in 2019.
