Christina Vera is the project lead on implementing and disseminating a PCORI-funded behavioral health intervention known as Padres Efectivos. She is also leading the effort to make the intervention culturally appropriate for use by the African-American community. Vera previously led a group of National Alliance on Mental Illness parents to implement and disseminate cognitive enhancement therapy, an evidence-based practice designed to help people with schizophrenia and related cognitive disorders improve brain and cognitive development and social cognition and increase vocational capabilities. She is also a founding member of PCORI's Peer Editorial Review Board. Vera holds a JD and a master’s in education.
