Christy Moore, MS is a licensed and certified Genetic Counselor in California. She currently leads the genetics program at Blue Shield of California. Her career has included positions in clinics, a hospital, a commercial genetic lab, and public health.

She now works with multiple stakeholders to improve access to quality genetics services for members. She has expertise in prenatal and pediatric genetics, with a focus in pediatric rare disease and rapid whole genome sequencing in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). After a rewarding four years as the sole science teacher at a continuation high school, she received an MS in Human Genetics from UC Davis, and an MS of Genetic Counseling from UC Irvine.

Christy is passionate about patient-centered medicine, including valuable outcomes research and proper communication with clinicians, payers, and patients. A deeply committed advocate, she believes strongly in the mission of PCORI and is excited to participate on the Rare Disease Advisory Panel as both a clinician and a representative of the payer perspective.
