C.J. Rhoads was introduced to PCORI after receiving a grant to study telehealth at the Center for Rural Pennsylvania. She has a bachelor’s degree in teaching, a master's degree in educational psychology, and a doctoral degree in educational technology. She currently teaches at Kutztown University where she conducts integrative health and economics research. Rhoads has published nine books, two of which are on telehealth, and over 200 articles in the fields of business and health. She also founded a research group called ASKLEPIOS, a loosely knit group of volunteer researchers who band together on a variety of health research projects. Additionally, she is on the Research and Education Committee of the National Qigong Association.
