Craig Spivey served as a lived-experience researcher on a community-based participatory research project in which the team developed and piloted an intervention to improve treatment engagement in African Americans living with HIV and serious mental illness. As part of that role, he participated in weekly team meetings over 10 months, recruited participants, helped participants complete surveys, and facilitated dissemination of intervention results.
