When her grandmother was diagnosed with dementia, Denisha Hobbs found it very important to research how she could assist in advocating for her grandmother’s healthcare needs. Hobbs is now a graduate student studying health policy and has continued researching and writing about dementia. She was invited to participate in the Talk Nerdy to Me training program with the Alliance for Aging Research, an experience that allowed her to share her expertise in gerontology and her experience working with the National Alliance for Caregiving. As an advocate/family caregiver, she would like to do more to lend her voice and help others find theirs to work toward patient-centered care.
