Elizabeth Papautsky
University of Illinois at Chicago -- Faculty

Elizabeth Papautsky’s research is focused on characterizing patient work (activities associated with managing their health/illness) and the context in which it occurs to ensure that solutions are patient-tailored. She has a doctorate in human factors, a field that is focused on user-centered solutions. After spending approximately eight years as a government contractor, she transitioned to academia to focus on patients because of her family's healthcare experiences. She also offers a patient perspective as a young breast cancer patient/survivor and has documented her clinical encounters, communications, and other aspects of care. She is very passionate about leveraging this perspective to both further and bring more attention to patient-centered research.
