Ellen Kimmel, MLIS, is a Medical Librarian in the Research Synthesis department at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). In this role, she provides research support for the Research Synthesis program, a legislatively-mandated evidence synthesis program, which aims to increase the quantity and quality of available comparative effectiveness research.
Before joining PCORI, Kimmel was a senior research librarian at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where she provided research support for Academies’ consensus studies and workshop proceedings. Prior to the Academies, she worked as an information specialist at RAND Corporation, The Inter-American Development Bank, and other corporate libraries.
Kimmel received an AB in History of Art from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and an MLIS from Wayne State University in Detroit, where she concentrated in special libraries.
