Ilene Hollin
Temple University - Staff Member

Ilene Hollin is a health services researcher focused on patient preferences, decision-making, and patient-centered outcomes. She came to academia with a desire to improve the healthcare system for patients in an evidence-based way. Her scientific research agenda focuses on three key areas: patient and caregiver preferences, the science of patient engagement, and the value of health technologies accounting for the patient perspective. She is particularly interested in applications among complex patient populations, such as those with rare diseases. She employs quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as patient engagement strategies. Her goal is to impact future research by incorporating the patient perspective in all aspects of healthcare, research, and policy, thereby ultimately contributing to better experiences and outcomes. Ilene has a PhD in health economics and policy, and an MPH in health policy and management with a concentration in effectiveness and outcomes. Ilene joins the Ambassador Program with an interest in a more comprehensive understanding of what other researchers are doing to advance patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) and patient engagement strategies.
