A mother of two adult children with sickle cell disease, Jacqueline Baker learned about PCORI and medical research as a participant in the National Sickle Cell Advocacy Network, sponsored by the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and PCORI. This experience motivated her to learn as much as she could about sickle cell disease and become involved in research and clinical trials. She would like to help scientists find a cure for sickle cell disease and help others be pain free and have the opportunity to live a normal life.
